I have been so busy lately between work and school that it has been hard to update the blog everyday like I wish I could. I have been so swamped with course work that I have barely even started planning my holidays out. Have you? What are you all up to for the festive season?
Despite all this, my brain has been in overdrive, thinking about some home improvements I hope to do in January after the crazy rush has settled. (And I think I've decided a nice DIY chair will be in order since it is the one thing missing from my little studio den.)
My little space :)
I do love interior design and so I hope that I can get something nice-looking in the mix!
Sorry for my long hiatus from the blog, life has been so crazy as the semester is coming to an end. I have been working a lot and doing some intense research for my graduation portfolio which is due on December 11th. I can't believe it's almost the holidays...Thanksgiving is just next week!
What are you all going to be doing?
Last week I went to the bay area and I got so excited to see all of the fall colors up there. Every street I drove past had beautiful trees with the leaves falling down and it was so stunning. I got really inspired to put some of those dark greens, oranges, and reds into my closet for this time of year.
Currently I have been so busy and really haven't kept up with TV, but there are a couple main shows that I am completely obsessed with and stay up late watching on Netflix or Youtube.
First off I have to say that I am in love with Vampire Diaries and it's spin off The Originals, I love that the story lines are starting to intertwine and I'm interested to see how the seasons play out.
Besides those staples, I just finished up Americas Next Top Model boys vs. girls cycle 20, which I must say was awesome...ly disappointing!!! How could Jordan win?? I was definitely not stoked to see Marvin and Cory walk away from the title, but whatever, I've been watching all the cycles, I know I won't stop now (especially now that men competing is going to be a permanent change to the show.)What did you all think about this cycle of ANTM? Did Jordan Deserve to win?
BESIDES THAT... The Queer eye ten year anniversary got me in a mood, and yet again the holy grail that is Netflix has the entire series (all 4 seasons) for instant stream. All I can say is hell yeah. I have been ending so many nights watching that in the dark, laughing at the 5 million sexual innuendos in every episode and touched at the changes these guys make in one freaking day.. like I said before I'm obsessed.
Finally I have to mention a really cool Youtube series I found from AwesomenessTV called Make Me Over (Notice a theme in what I watch??) which started last year. It is such a cute makeover show, really focused on teens who need a little confidence boost, but I love the young cast, I love the makeovers, and the family reactions get me every time (though they are kinda awkward too haha.) Check out the first episode here.
Hope you enjoy the inner ramblings of my mind! More posts will be up soon.

I am so excited because I am going to the Bay this weekend to visit my Uncle and his recently born daughter Luna (isn't that a precious name.) I love going up to the Bay because there is such a different style there than down in SoCal, AND my best friend lives up there too, so it's a win win trip. The weather in San Diego can't seem to make up its mind and today it's cold again and looks like it's going to pour down on me at any moment. I actually had a productive day, thanks to the time change I woke up before 9am and was able to get a lot of work done on my thesis, clean up around the house, and run errands before class. I also was able to wear warm knits and boots today.... which I'm more than happy to do.
On a side note I have to recommend to everyone that you buy Sierra Mists new cranberry soda. I never drink soda but I love cranberry anything so I gave this a shot. I opted out of buying the cranberry sprite because Coke products contain high fructose corn syrup and I keep that, amongst many other ingredients, out of my cupboard. Pepsi is smart to have jumped on the natural sugar bandwagon, cause if I'm going to be unhealthy I'd like the natural kind of bad for you haha.
For my entire life I have remained hilarious and ain't sexified when it comes to Halloween. While other girls prance around in their undies and heels, I have resorted to being dead, a robot, and all around ungirly but this year I decided to be a sexy kitty. Uh oh. Here are some pictures from the night.
It's tuesday, it's still kinda gloomy, and I just want to stand out amongst the clouds. So it's time to bust out the bright colors, drink coffee and read my new W magazine with Katy Perry on the cover.
I was feeling a little bit grungy yesterday during one of the very few rainy days we get here in San Diego. I knew it was my chance to layer up and wear some of my favorite fall colors like my new burgundy pants.
What are some of your favorite colors for this fall?
This weekend I realized I was in dire need of some sweaters. I head about 20 minutes south of my house to my favorite Veterans thrift store and put my bargaining hawk eyes on, Within half an hour I had found a pair of Calvin Klein bootcut jeans, a Flannel, 2 sweaters, a vintage creme Izod cardigan, and a couple shirts....all for $6.... yeah, thrift stores have my heart.
I plan on doing some DIY destruction on those jeans following this awesome video I found on the free people website! If you're looking to do some shredding too check it out.
In honor of my new job, where I have to dress business casual each day, I have decided to put together a couple outfit choices that would be appropriate for when I start working next week.
This weekend was an amazing one for me because I got to go up to the mountains and work with some really amazing kids and parents, at one of our Girl Scouts camp properties. I got to spend the day leading team building activities and archery, while enjoying the mountain air. I was so peaceful! I am really excited cause it's coming up to my 5th year anniversary working for GS and I couldn't be more blessed to work for this beautiful organization. I currently am a Day Camp Director but also am starting a new position with them this week working in our resource department and store, I will be able to facilitate and help our thousands of girls and volunteers with any projects or ideas they need. It's really cool, I'm sure excited, and I am looking forward to these coming months.
I am so in love with the cool weather taking over in San Diego, not so much the rain, but the chance to layer up and enjoy the sun still shining, heck yes!!
I hope that everyone is having a fantastic day, thank goodness it's Friday right??

Just a little reminder to all of you out there! No matter what keep your head up, a smile on your face, and remember that positivity with always win against the bad. If you can remain grateful opportunities will present themselves in the right moments and you should never have to remain in a bad situation permanently. Sometimes things aren't easy, but thats when you decide whether to stand up or be submissive to those things that try to bring you down. Be strong.
Surprisingly and unusually it has been pouring rain in San Diego all day! The cold weather and raindrops called for a layered up and cozy look and I was more than happy to do it.
I was more than happy to layer and wear a beanie (Hats are my favorite.) It is supposed to be cool tomorrow as well so I can't wait to wear a new fedora my grandparents got me for my birthday last month. It has been too hot lately to give it a test run, but tomorrow might be the perfect day!
What is exciting all of you about fall?
ps. I made these yummy pizza rolls today! I'll do a baking post soon :)
I have for years been trying to master the art of fake lashes, Although my own are quite plentiful with mascara and some liner, its just a beauty staple for any woman to know how to apply these babies. I have practiced over the past five years and still seem to manage messing up one eye every time, getting glue gunk all over the place, or having lashes properly attached... only to later find one on the ground while I am out proudly flaunting them. That being said, I have also had my success with the eye enhancers after learning some tips and tricks. First don't apply too much glue, be plentiful but not overabundant. Secondly trim them to fit your eyes before trying to apply, nothing is weirder than having eyelashes that overextend from your lash line. Thirdly, curl your natural lashes in with the false ones in order to maintain some illusion of them being real! If you can master those three things you can apply lashes (with a little love and practice)! Personally I think this trend will never go out of style. I love the 1960s mod look with doll like eyes and have seen it reoccur over and over during the past few seasons, numerous times on the runway and red carpets.
Last but not least my attempt at Modeling falsies I applied myself...
Today it seemed for once, I didn't have a case of the Mondays.
But per usual I didn't get an "in-action" shot of me and my outfit today, as I was busy running around doing errands, going to school, making a stop at the library, and working all day. That being said I did get a nice chance tonight to hop on Polyvore and make a visual recreation of my outfit for the day....
Ok ok a couple things aren't exactly what I wore but each piece is
similar enough that you get the idea. Although I will admit I love my
ACTUAL sandals better than any I could find on the site, especially
matched up with my navy blue pedicure I did at home this weekend.
I promise I will try and get some style photos going on the site within this week!
Hope everyone's week got off to a great start!
Anyone have any grand plans or exciting things to do this week?

Happy Sunday!
I hope everyone is enjoying a nice (and hopefully lazy day like myself.) I just wanted to take a minute to mention that I am on Lookbook and I absolutely love it. I am still figuring out how to take those cool blogger girl photos but I love going on and browsing what other people are wearing and how they are wearing it. The site is super inspirational.
That's all for now! Time for a cup of iced green tea, read my current issue of Rolling Stone, Possibly head out to Balboa Park and take some photos, and to finish a massive pile of laundry sitting in my apartment!

Happy October everyone!!
Although the weather is still warm as ever here in Southern California, our nights are just starting to get cold enough for fall layers to exit my closet. Another thing I have noticed is that the change is weather has made the air so much drier out here and my skin, hair, and lips are suffering because of it. I had heard about the Coconut Oil craze since last spring, but only decided now to purchase a big jar and indulge in its many benefits. I have had it for a week now and have used it to roast a delicious chicken, added it to my rice while cooking, and used it for a hair mask (after recently going ombre and having crazy dry ends it was remarkable how much this helped heal my hair.) I also have been using it on my chapped lips, and dry elbows. I have heard that a lot of people with sensitive skin can't use the oil straight from the jar so it is better to use it in a lotion form or add it to your body wash in the shower. So far I have no complaints and have been feeling softer than ever!
Not only is it great for skin, when used in foods, it has great health benefits because it is one of the best saturated fats for your body. It helps with cholesterol, asthma, speeds up your metabolism, and helps with overactive thyroids. And because it is solid when kept under 76ยบ it is really an awesome substitute for butter. I definitely recommend it!
Are any of you fans of coconut oil? What do you use it for?
